The Cochran Family

We are a family of seven—Michael, Sarah, Nathanael, Abigail, Noelle, Annie, and Faith—living on a beautiful 40-acre farm. Our home is filled with love, adventure, and a variety of animals, including cows, goats, chickens, peacocks, guinea fowl, and, of course, our beloved English Cream Golden Retrievers. Family time is at the heart of everything we do. With Michael working from home and Sarah homeschooling our children, we get to spend most of our days together—whether tackling farm chores as a team, cooking meals, or exploring new experiences. When we're not at home, you'll often find us enjoying time with our local church family or visiting the zoo.

At SDG Goldens, raising puppies is a full family effort, but Sarah is the primary point of contact for all our past, present, and future SDG families. If you call, email, or message us, she’s the one you'll most likely connect with. Sarah’s passion for both dogs and people makes it her joy to match each of our puppies with the perfect home. She also loves staying in touch with our families, following each puppy’s journey, and ensuring they have all the support they need.

Sarah’s love for Golden Retrievers began in childhood when she bred them alongside her mother and brother in Raytown, Missouri. She later became a professional dog groomer and has worked in the field for over 25 years. She holds a Bachelor's in Animal Science from the University of Missouri and a Master’s in Reproductive Physiology from South Dakota State University. She completed all coursework and published research for a PhD in Animal Molecular and Cellular Biology but chose to prioritize her growing family before completing her dissertation. Though she stepped away from academia, her extensive knowledge and experience play a crucial role in our breeding program, shaping how we raise and care for our dogs and puppies.

We look forward to meeting you and learning more about your family! Feel free to reach out anytime—we’d love to connect.
